And the gender is...

The last time I posted, I was frantically awaiting the news on boy or girl! I decided to take off a half day of work in order to make it to the appointment early, and to meet my parents at the hospital. They were thankfully able to make the trip up to see the ultra-sound with us. Before the appointment, Chris and I went to the party store and bought some blue sparkle party hats, and some pink princess hats. We had already planned to have a couple of people over for the big reveal the next night. This pumped us up for the reveal even more! So, we met my parents and then went into the hospital. Thankfully, we didn't have to wait long. They got us right in and started the ultra sound. The ultra sound tech asked if we wanted to know right away, because she said she could already tell what we were having. At that point, we all definitely thought at boy! We figured that the "obvious" reason she knew was because of the little boy parts that were visible!!! lol. But, we continued the ultra sound and she went through and showed us the arms, legs, heart, spine, etc. It was SO neat. Finally, the time came and she said, " Well, you are having a little girl!" At this point, Chris was filming and I just said something like, "Are you kidding! Oh my goodness!!!" I was so shocked and excited all at the same time. In fact, it took me a while to still realize we are having a little girl. We went out to eat with my parents, called all the grand and great grandparents, and then went to Rick's bakery to order pink filled cupcakes! The next day at school I had to "secretly" tell everyone! Then, we were able to go home and get ready for the small party we had. Our friends were just as shocked as we were! When I got in bed that night I began to cry with joy. All I could think about was how excited I am going to be to share a new journey with a daughter. I love how close my mom and I have become, and I can only hope to have a sweet relationship with my precious daughter soon! " Dear baby girl... I can't wait to meet you and hug all over you! Your daddy and I already pray for you daily and can't wait to see you and watch you grow!"

The pictures are me at 20 weeks (one actual belly shot) and the baby reveal cupcake.

I wonder...

I wonder if it will be a girl or a boy! Will I be buying little razorback cheer outfits, or jerseys? Will I need to do this or that!? Oh the questions that are racing through my head as I wait for this next week to pass. We will be finding out soon and I am so, so anxious! I have honestly had so many emotions just thinking about this. It's almost as if the idea of me being a mommy really is just setting in. The other day I was in the car singing at the top of my lungs to a song and I caught myself saying : "sorry baby, mommy really likes this song." I referred to myself as mommy. Crazy! And along with allowing myself to finally be excited and do this, comes the same feelings of fear. I have been praying and reminding myself that God is in control of everything. It's the fear of the responsibility I already feel like I have to keep this baby healthy. I am most eager to go to the doctor, not only to find out the gender, but just to see and hear the heartbeat. That's what I most care about right now. Besides the baby emotions, things are good around our house! I have been super busy at work, which has really made time fly. I also have been regulating the medicine where I am not getting sick EVERY night, just some nights a week. ;) I am a little over 18 weeks along! I am positive I will be posting soon to share the news of what the little Latimer gender will be!

The little flutter...

Well,
I do believe that I felt the baby flutter for the first time the other night. It was about 3 a.m. and I was probably going to pee... again! I was lying there and it felt like a little bubble popping, or a fluttering feeling. It did it a couple of times and then stopped. I have felt that same feeling a couple of times since, and am hoping that is the baby. :) We will find out soon the gender, but it is hard to wait. On the health update, I have finally been able to get the medicine to work. I occasionally still do my usual evening sickness, but most of the time with the medicine, I just feel a little sick without getting sick. The other night I thought I would try and see if I was done needing the meds, so I didn't take them.... bad idea! So, back on and just trying to allow myself to understand that it's needed right now. With the changing of the seasons I am battling a chest cough right now, so that just gives me another reason to not sleep... but i am not complaining! lol. As far as how I feel during 80% of the day, I am good! This morning was a good morning and I got up, baked an apple pie, started some homemade crock pot applesauce, and cleaned a little. This was pretty productive if I say so myself! I am getting really anxious to start the planning and preparing. We have tried to not think of names much, but i secretly have some on my brain. :) I am 17 weeks now (technically in a day), and am really starting to feel/see the bump! My flat belly is stretching and there is a pretty hard bump in the middle! My pants refuse to button, so my baby band is coming in handy in order for me to still do without maternity pants. I finally took some pictures and got a couple of the recent ones to download. These are my 16 and 17 week pictures. It just so happens that I take my pictures on Hog Game Days! ;) Whoo pig sooie! I can't wait to see if I will be buying a lil' Razorback jersey or cheerleader outfit! We shall see soon....
