The doctor visit...

I went to the doctor Thursday to do a check-up and see how everything is going. So far, I have still been getting sick at night, but unfortunately sometimes the meds are taken too late and I have an all-nighter. This past week was probably one of the more exhausting and sick weeks that I have had, not to mention work was super busy! One night, I threw up from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. Then, had to force myself to get up at 5:30a.m and get ready for work. The doctor said everything seemed ok, and that the baby's heartbeat was 161, which she said was good. My stats were good and I really haven't gained weight, but I am absolutely positive that will come soon enough. :) She wasn't concerned about the weight loss because my belly is beginning to pop out and have a bump... which is the important part! This week, the baby is the size of a large lemon. :) Actually, it is up to 3.5 inches long! That is just crazy to me. But, besides the nightly sickness, I am well. I keep getting up each morning and praying that even though i feel horrible some days, I don't care as long as I am helping this baby be healthy. So, in about 5 weeks I go back to the doctor to find out if we will be buying lots of pink or lots of blue. :) I can't wait! And again, I will get some pictures up because I do officially have a little baby bump..... if only I could get my camera to cooperate.

The journey through the first 13 weeks...

Well what can I say... it has been a journey already! We found out that we were pregnant at the beginning of July. I took about 3 tests, with the first one being negative. Then, if any of you know me well, I was not satisfied with that answer and bought another round of tests! I took the second one and i "KNOW" I saw that plus sign. Chris told me he thought that I was just seeing things because he didn't see it. ( Did I mention that I took it at 5 a.m.) Anyway, so I waited for a few days when i probably should have had my regular cycle and took one again. At this point, I saw it! I told Chris immediately and we waited to be sure until the doctor visit... since i was still technically a little early. Some concerns began to occur, mostly in my head.. ha!, but also in my stomach. I began to have a lot of lower cramping, bad aching, and some bad pain in one side of my ovary. Of course, I panicked a little, so i went to the doctor and they ran some blood tests. It indeed confirmed I was pregnant, and then we set up the appointment for the official visit. The pain seemed to become more normal, causing us to all believe that it was my previous ovarian cysts either bursting or just being a problem. At the doctor/nurse visit we did the whole financial talk, health talk, and then dealt with some concerns. Life was pretty normal until about 6 weeks.... then came the ugly throw-up monster! It wasn't so nice either! From about 6 weeks to 13 weeks I was throwing up pretty much every day. I got put on meds when i went to my first ultra-sound, which was pretty cool (the u.s. that is), and now i am still taking the meds when needed. As I approach week 14 this week, I am trying to say with much positive thinking that the throwing up is getting less and less each day. I am starting to have a baby pooch and am not wanting clothes to touch my belly. :) I am already have food cravings (citrus, potatoes, lemonade), and foods that i don't want to touch (meat, spicy foods, fried foods). I also have noticed that i can't seem to sleep comfortably and that i am in much need of finding a body pillow! With all this said, I still feel blessed to be having a baby, and still praying daily for health and safety for me and the baby. I go to the doctor next week, and then about a month later we will find out the sex of the baby. :) Once i get a more obvious bump, pictures will start to be posted! Now, since my husband has been so great through all of this, I am trying to actually cook and clean when i feel good... so this Saturday morning will be filled with chocolate chip pancakes, laundry, and enjoying the rainy day!

Here is goes...

Well, first off, I am not a blogger. I thought that I would start this in an attempt to keep up with the crazy journey that is about to begin! Chris and I have had an exciting past 5 years. When i think about the "major events" in life... I can pretty much sum them up in the last 5 years.
First, in 2006, I had graduated and started my career as a special ed. teacher in Little Rock, which i really loved living. Chris had got an offer to move to Northwest Arkansas and be a worship leader. This was the point where we had to decide if we stay together, or we both eventually get up there! Definitely a God thing when I got a job right off the bat in Rogers Public Schools. Which I must say, I LOVE! Then, in 2008, I got engaged! Chris proposed while we were at Chateau on the Lake for a company trip in December. It seemed like everything was just falling into place!
Throughout the wedding planning, my fairly new job, and living in my apartment... things were good. I was eager to hurry and get married. I had never been one of those who had to have the massive huge wedding, with everything homemade by me, and frilly dilly. :) I wanted it mostly simple, candles, and roses.... which we had! We got married in the same church as my parents did, and the church my grand and great grandparents attended most of their lives. On March 21, 2009, I said yes to a man that was perfect for me! Our brothers married us, which made the day so special!
Ok, so.... recap.... got a job, moved, got a new job, got engaged, got married.... NOW, let's continue. I also began graduate school a year into our marriage! ( I know... I am nuts!) However, it went well and I graduated with a 4.0! yippee! After that I said that we would take it easy for a while and just enjoy life! Which we did.... We bought a house! lol. Our first home and we love it! Then, This past summer I went on a mother/daughter mini vacation with just my mom. It was great! I knew in my mind that i wanted to go on one before we started having kids. When we got back from the beach in early June, Chris and I decided that we were ready to begin the "baby making". :) I just knew it would take a while to get pregnant, and so we wanted to start early June.
To our excitement.... we didn't need very much trying! Apparently it was "time" for us and we are so excited that we will be welcoming a baby in March 2012. SO, like I said, we have had a great and blessed past five years! I can't imagine what the future holds.... "it's gonna be wild, it's gonna be great"..... Thank you Jesus for your blessings!
